Vietnam - A new eco-lodge experience

Offering a ‘living in the jungle’ experience, the newly opened Forest Floor Lodge in Cat Tien National Park is located just 3 hours drive from Saigon, and is the first eco-lodge to open in the park. A haven for the outdoor enthusiast, Cat Tien Park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna including over 300 species of birds and 400 species of butterflies. Adventurists will enjoy the trekking and biking trails nearby, as well as the night jeep safari to spot nocturnal animals. Guests of the lodge can choose between deluxe riverside tents or traditional Vietnamese wooden houses both of which offer modern amenities and fantastic views.

Cambodia - Angkor Wat Photography Course

Professional photographer, Loven Ramos, has called Siem Reap home for years and is one of the moving forces of the dynamic photography scene there. Recently, Mr. Ramos has joined with Trails of Indochina to offer a unique, hands-on photography course for our clients – set in the Temples of Angkor. With guidance from Mr. Ramos, guests capture the sunrise at Angkor Wat from the best location, and later visit the quieter, less crowded temples which offer the best photo opportunities. Guests can review the day’s photos with Mr. Ramos, select the best ones and have them printed to take home.

Laos - Alila Luang Prabang opening in October

Extracting its architecture and style from the rich culture of this wonderful town, this luxury boutique hotel, Alila Luang Prabang, is set to open in Luang Prabang later this year. Thailand - Bangkok’s 12th International Festival of Dance and Music

The International Festival of Dance and Music has garnered a reputation for excellence by presenting only the best contemporary dance and music from around the world to discerning audiences in Bangkok. Highlights this year include Swan Lake by Zurich Ballet, A Christmas Carol by Northern Ballet Theatre and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. From September 11 to October 24, there are performances most evenings at 7:30pm at the Thailand Cultural Center. Myanmar - Increased air access to Yangon

Malaysia Airlines is the latest airline to offer daily flight services to Yangon International Airport. Starting from September, the airline will increase from five times per week to daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon using Boeing 737-800s. Together with Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines and Air Asia, the Malaysia Airlines service will provide Myanmar with better access and more options for those wishing to combine a visit to Myanmar with additional travel in the region.

Myanmar - Visa on arrival news

Myanmar has announced that from September 01, 2010 it will no longer be offering the Visa on Arrival service. Visitors to Myanmar are requested to arrange their visa before departure by contacting their local Myanmar embassy or Trails of Indochina. We are able to provide a pre-arranged Visa on Arrival service. Please request this from our Travel Consultant when making your next Myanmar booking.

Vietnam - Trails of Indochina launches Spanish website

Trails of Indochina is pleased to announce the launch of our Spanish language website and newsletter. As Southeast Asia is becoming increasingly popular as a holiday destination for Spanish speaking travelers, Trails of Indochina is expanding our Spanish speaking department and capabilities. In addition to our website and newsletter, we have appointed a full time Director of Sales and Marketing for Spanish Speaking Markets, Mr. Vicente Catala, in our Head office, several Spanish speaking Travel consultants throughout our regional offices, and talented Spanish speaking tour guides to look after your clients needs on the ground.
