We had an amazing time. We were extremely impressed with Trails of Indochina. We weren't sure what to expect from them and were blown away with their professionalism and unbelievable customer service. We can't say enough about Trails of Indochina!

January 2009

The trip has been fabulous. We have been treated like VIP's everywhere-thanks to the (your) tour company Trails of Indochina- special treatment with the airports in Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam.

Laos was great. Cambodia is a sight to see-rather the temples in Angkor Wat, but the poverty and dirt is quite disturbing. We ended up loving the Raffles hotel- We think it might be a la peninsula. We are still glad that we stayed at the Mandarin in Hong Kong. The hotel La Residence in Laos was like a dream- all of the hotels are wonderful, and we totally feel like we're away in another world or on another planet.

The services provided by Trails of Indochina were beyond our expectations. Everything promised was delivered, and then some!! From the moment we were greeted at each airport, until the time we were taking off for the next city, we felt secure, comfortable and relaxed, knowing there was nothing for us to think about other than having a good time!

Each guide and driver was outstanding, making it impossible for us to single any one out. They were all extremely knowledgeable, professional, reliable, and added the personal touch that enabled us to truly understand the culture, history and nuances of each city we visited. Our guides were all flexible and took great interest in personalizing our experiences, based on our interests and their good judgment. Thus, we felt like we were with good friends/family, all of whom we would love to see again!

Great high level, attention to detail and highly personal service. We were always well if not over- covered and lots of luxurious maintenance. Hotels were amazing. Flights were seamless. We had a great time and we have traveled enough to know that this doesn't just happen. So thank you so much for all your efforts in making this experience what we wanted.

April 2009

I have just spoken with the Steffensen family to find out how everything was and she was almost on the verge of tears. She was so upset that the trip was over that they weren't still there. She said that she was actually hoping that the Bangkok Airport would have closed so that she would have an excuse to stay longer.
Chiang Mai - she said that the guide asked them if they wanted to take a detour after the Elephant Camp to see some tigers and that it was a small, family run operation. She said that this was one of the highlights of their trip. Would be very interested in you including this in all of my future programs.

Siem Reap - the guide took them to see the "wells" in the donation program and explained it all, as well as the orphanage that Le Residence d'Angkor endorses. These were two very worthwhile stops on the trip.

This will be a repeat customer for you as they want to go back and spend more more and also want to go to Vietnam. Thanks to all for such a wonderful job and your commitment to all of our clients!

Part I

Highlights from our trip:

* Siem Reap: The archaeologist who was our guide at Angkor Wat was superb; the other temples were wonderful too; and, of course, the birthday dinner and Apsara dance show; two lunches at Khmer Kitchen in town. By the way, one of our photos appeared today (Sunday, June 15) in the travel section of the Denver Post – I am going to try to figure out how to send it to you (maybe a link to the page in the newspaper!)

* Phnom Penh: Visits to the Killing Fields and Tous Leng museum (see above).

* Bangkok: Interactions with the owner of Siam Heritage; Temple of Dawn; royal barges; tiny synagogue on 4th floor of Cao Pyla Tower; Bangkok doll factory.

* Chiang Mai: Elephant Conservation Center (an amazing experience); night bazaar.
Seeing the village and special project elementary school enroute to Chiang Rai.

* Chiang Rai: Night Bazaar and dinner at Sawaddee restaurant; Karen Long Neck village; Ancient Thai massage at the Dusit.

Transfer process to cross the border between Thailand and Laos! Cruise and shore excursions on the Mekong.

* Luang Prabang: Hearing the monks chanting at Wat Mai; monks “making merit;” Wat Xiengthing; wonderful local Marchkets.

Part II

We want to thank you for all the things you did personally for us on our trip to Southeast Asia. We were amazed at the little personal touches – The phone call from you to us in Ho Chi Minh City, the replacement of Bernie’s small tee shirt with two larger ones, the arranging of the birthday celebration, complete with singing and birthday cake at the Apsara dance show in Siem Reap, and finally the lovely white roses and expression of sympathy when I was sick in Chiang Mai! We know that you were involved in all of these actions and they were such nice touches – thank you!
